Picture Editors

Jonathon Braun, A.C.E.

Jonathon Braun, A.C.E., a five-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee, began his career editing low-budget horror and suspense films in the early 1980s. But his real break came when, still in his twenties, he caught the eye of master filmmaker Orson Welles and spent the next three years as his editor. After Welles’ untimely death, Braun continued to edit feature films ultimately transitioning into television. He has since edited many network movies of the week, miniseries, dramas and single-camera comedies. In 2000, Braun helped pioneer the genre of non-scripted “reality” shows. As one of the original supervising editors on Mark Burnett’s Survivor from its premiere episode through its seventh season, Braun contributed to the look, style and excitement of alternative programming that would change the face of television. He continued as supervising editor on other Burnett series, including The Apprentice, and recently the highly acclaimed Expedition Africa: Stanley & Livingstone, for the History Channel.
